Genetically modified organisms Nowadays, genetically modified organisms (GMO) are an important element in the global trade of crops. Manufacturers products free from GMOs must ensure that the products they use crops which are free from GMOs only. Freedom from GMOs can be tested with different technologies: fast screening carried out using immunological methods on the one hand and quantitative reference testing is using PCR on the other hand. Freedom from GMO below a certain threshold value (e.g. 1%) can be ascertained in quick tests; these tests are sufficiently sensitive. Quantas Analytics GmbH offers analysis using quick tests.
